Objective: Homeopathy is one of the most commonly used unconventional supportive care methods by women with breast cancer. This article aims to describe the routines and practices of homeopathy used for supportive care by women diagnosed with non-metastatic breast cancer in France.
Methods: This qualitative research employed the Grounded Theory method. The study included women diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and healthcare professionals (general practitioner homeopaths and oncologists). Participant inclusion was carried out until data saturation was reached, based on specific criteria and the purpose of the theoretical sampling approach. Data were collected through individual semi-structured interviews and focus group studies conducted in accordance with evolving subject guidelines. Transcribed interviews underwent in-depth thematic analysis. The inclusion process was iterative, with interviews, transcription, and coding phases performed sequentially. Data were reported according to COREQ guidelines.
